My friend’s little girl is turning two and Nina, her mum, is organising a toddler party for her and her friends. As always, the question is what to feed little monsters? So I suggested her to make little kebabs. Even I find it more fun if food is on a stick :).

So here are some of the ideas:
- Fajita chicken kebabs or Grilled chicken kebabs – kids love chicken! It can be simple grilled chicken or seasoned, if your kids are a bit less fussy. Add grilled veggies in between to achieve that 5 a day :).
- Chicken and waffles on a stick – if veggies are not the most popular among your toddlers, waffles between chicken pieces add to some variety.
- Salad on a stick – OK, I’m not sure if you can trick kids who don’t like salad to eat it when it’s put on a stick, but it’s worth a try!
- Fruit kebabs (with a name) – these are my favourite and my go to dish whenever I need to bring a plate to a party (not just kids’ one). And you can do it with whatever fruit you like or have available (some are though a bit easier to mount on the stick then others). I’d also mix in some cheese! Oh, and if you feel very creative and want to make extra impression, try out carving kids’ names!
- Fruit caterpillars – I love these! So easy to make. And soooo cute!
- Grilled fruit kebabs – fruit a bit different. Not my favourite, but lots of people and kids will like them.
- French toast kebabs – I love this idea! Pieces of French toast in between bananas, strawberries and blueberries, with a hint of maple syrup. I don’t think any toddler or kid would have issues eating this when presented on a plate, but hey, it’s party time!
- Strawberry waffle skewers – mmm, mmm, mmm. Waffles, strawberries and whipped cream. I’d add some chocolate sauce to it (just for myself, not for the kids 🙂 ).
- Banana split kebabs – again, bananas and other fruits with a mix of brownie. Make a refined sugar free brownie for the healthy version (and to avoid kids going loopy 🙂 ).
I can’t wait to try them out!
